About Us
Before we start with us, lets focus on the name as we're sure you are wondering how to pronounce it and what it means. Well, our co-founder Dan is also a meteorologist and he couldn't resist combining his two passions to form the brand. This takes us back to the original question, the name!
CAVOK is pronounced Cav OK. It is an aviation acronym meaning ceiling (or clouds) and visibility are OK. In more detail, a weather status report for pilots when visibility is at least 10km, there are no clouds below 5000ft or minimum sector altitude (which ever is higher), and there is no current or forecast significant weather such as precipitation.
Anyway, the brand. Co-founded in December 2020 by Dan and Chloe, the business is based in the heart of Devon and specialises in cricket equipment and training stash. Our aim is to design and manufacture contemporary, quality products whilst remembering the traditions of our beautiful game. Our equipment is suitable for all abilities and our promise is to keep our prices as low as possible making cricket accessible to the masses again. Our bats are handcrafted using traditional methods here in the heart of Devon from only the finest English willow sourced locally in Southern England.
